The Ghent city museum STAM takes you on a chronological journey through the history of Ghent by introducing you to a series of objects and multimedia. They always refer to the city itself, as it is the museum’s main focus.
In addition, the museum organises temporary exhibitions that make the ‘urban’ concept comprehensible and demonstrates in a variety of ways what makes a city a city.
The museum is housed in the 14th-century Bijloke Abbey. The buildings in themselves also merit a visit. The STAM café allows you to take a breath and have a snack or a drink.
